Location Based Information. Indoor Navigation

Have you ever been trying to find your way around a huge indoor event such as an exibition in Visitor Centre or in a large museum? GPS navigation inside buildings tends to be a problem due to inaccuracies and indoor navigation has until recently not been possible at all.

By combining GPS and compass-based geo-information with LLA-marker technology (latitude, longitude, altitude marker), users can now experience Augmented Reality even inside buildings. Pointing the smartphone’s camera at such marker helps the device to locate its precise position inside the building and can act as an indoor guide to museums, large and complex historic buildings or exhibitions.

Augmented Reality helps visitors to find their way around the facility and to benefit from useful information displayed directly onto the smartphone by pointing its camera at a marker next to an exhibition or room. This could be informative text, images, video or even 3D models.
